During the implementation period some problems and issues were encountered. These are:
• insufficient attention of the SMEs,
• lack of qualified and experienced personnel in SMEs,
• direct requests to access to finance,
• poor level of collaboration between the business and research sectors,
• administrative and organisation problems of the SMEs.

The main objective of the project was to offer quality innovation-support services in order to enhance and strengthen the technological and innovation capacity of selected SMEs in the Southern east part of Turkey. The expected end result of the services is that the technological and innovation capacity of the client SMEs will be significantly increased for a number of SMEs. The partners helped and targetted enhancing and strengthening the Research and Innovation capacity of potential SMEs in the region covered.

To overcome to these problems, consortium performed and organised some online information events, advisory services, company visits and monitoring visits to increase attention and encouragament of the SMEs. To increase performance and results, Southinnogate targetted and focused on increasing the interest, relevancem and curiosity of the SMEs on technology transfers, IPRs, innovation, R&D and entrepreneurship. Succes stories were told and it is aimed to raise attention of SMEs on innovation. As the whole world knows, we have to deal with the problems related to Covid-19 in most of the project, so we have sufficient time in the field. In order to overcome this, we tried to do all our activities from online platforms.
