Enhancing the innovation management capacity of SMEs with the Enterprise Europe Network Canarias 2020-2021

Project description

Towards enhanced innovation management in SMEs on the Canary Islands

Innovation is key to economic growth. However, many SMEs lack the capacity to manage their innovation processes. Building on preceding relevant projects, the EU-funded E3Canarias 2020-2021 project aims to address this issue by providing services aimed at enhancing the innovation management capacity of SMEs on the Canary Islands. To this end, it will deliver service packages to the most innovative SMEs on the islands and additional support to other beneficiaries. Mentoring will be provided to an average of 21 companies. These services will help to increase the competitiveness and profitability of the region’s SMEs.

Objective

The E3Canarias 2020-2021 project aims at continuing the activities carried out since 2014 under E3Canarias, E3Canarias 2015-2016, E3Canarias 2017-2018 and E3Canarias 2019 projects, enhancing the innovation management capacity of the Canary Islands’ SMEs through the delivery of 7 to 10 days service packages, targeted to the most innovative small and medium size companies in the islands, as well as giving support to the Canary Island beneficiaries of the HORIZON 2020 EIC pilot as Key Account Manager (KAM) services.

An average of 21 SMEs will be mentored, combining two services:
- A minimum of 16 SMEs beneficiaries of enhancing the innovation management capacities service. The number could be increased depending on the companies’ ambition, motivation and resources availability.
- A maximum of 5 beneficiaries of the HORIZON 2020 EIC pilot.

For the delivery of the services, 2 staff members are actively involved in the KAM community and have close cooperation with National NCP for SME and 3 staff members are experts for innovation Management trained via the IMP3rove-Academy and Innovation Health Check for EIMC services.
