Objective

Specific problems that will be attacked by the project are:

speeding up the select-join operation by propagating constraints from one relation or server to another
providing facilities to locate deep diagnostic errors
providing an integrated scheduler and applying it to query optimisation
maintaining complete compatibility with new SQL and other relevant standards
providing a range of migration tools for use with this product
supporting terabyte scale databases.

The software will be portable so that it is not dependent on any particular hardware platform.
