Periodic Reporting for period 2 - innosabi GALAXY (The Agile Innovation solution to revolutionise the way people connect, collaborate and create disruptive innovations throughout a company’s ecosystem to unlock its full potential) Reporting period: 2020-12-01 to 2021-11-30 Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project In innovation management, all large corporations face the same challenge: they lose the overview of available competencies, knowledge, and direct contact to their stakeholders for innovation. Hierarchic structures lead to long decision-making that cripples the corporation in their innovation and product development. To sustain in international competition, they need digital, simple and effective solutions to implement open, agile innovation management. We – innosabi - are the Europe’s leading provider of software solutions for innovation management with many well-known customers, like Bayer, Siemens, and Allianz. innosabi is a place where talented individuals build the tools and methods to change the way ideas and innovations emerge. We believe that this is the key to enabling the digital transformation of entire industries. This is the unique innosabi spirit that makes us special.With a year-on-year growth of our turnover of 40% since 2015, innosabi GALAXY and the SME Instrument Phase 2 funding we will reach the next milestone to boost company growth in turnover and jobs, as well as to win the global race and become the global leader for innovation management software. Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far We further developed and optimised our software for innovation management innosabi GALAXY. The existing platforms were migrated into GALAXY. The set-up time at the client was drastically reduced, a semantic analysis and interfaces to external data sources, like Crunchbase, Trendone Trends, EPO Patents, and many more, were implemented. The OAuth2 protocol was integrated to implement external communities in a simple and standardised way. The value propositions were furthermore improved by global search, a workflow engine, additional analytics and visualisation functions, geo-tagging, improved accessibility and usability, simple homepage configuration tools, etc. During the first wave of COVID-19 infections in Europe, we collaborated with MunichRE and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, to create the “Give a Breath challenge”. Our innosabi technology was used to find and finance innovative ideas to fight the COVID-19 crisis.Despite the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we could achieve a great progress in the technical development, as well as refine our business plan and commercialisation strategy. The onboarding process was standardised and automated, the sales team was expanded, and we established an US office in Minneapolis, MN. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we began to offer free “crisis relief” versions of the software and now in general demos for interested customers to create opportunities for long-term partnerships after the crisis. With the EIC support in this project and the technical progress we made, we gained several market specific lighthouse customers. We have made a name for ourselves in the industry and have built a good reputation, especially in German-speaking countries. Also, the SME Instrument project was a major driver to join forces with the Questel group as of January 2021. The Questel group is a leading software provider in the field of Intellectual Property (IP) from France. They specialise in IP Management and data-driven business intelligence. and - like us - they understand that every IP starts with a great innovation process. So, the Questel group, with its 900 employees and 6,000 customers in over 30 countries, is the perfect partner to achieve our ambitious goal to bring our software and knowledge to the world. Integrating innosabi's product and expertise with Questel group's exciting IP products creates an offering that supports our customers throughout the entire cycle of innovation - from ideation to managing IP to new ideas based on IP data. Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far) innosabi Galaxy unites all our existing solutions concerning collaboration with employees, suppliers and customers, implements external knowledge databases and communities, like patents, CrunchBase or LinkedIn. By using innosabi GALAXY for innovation projects with employees, customers could generate 300% more ideas and engagement, and realise projects 4x faster. Innovation campaigns can be enhanced with virtual crowdfunding and accelerate the implementation of promising ideas. Our solution scouting allows to optimise the search for solutions and make the expertise of the customers employees usable across departmental boundaries. For customer feedback and ideas, there is no limit in community size and interaction. In average, high quality customer feedback is acquired within 60 minutes. By involving experts and partners to start campaigns on current business challenges and specifically invite suppliers with matching skills, the time to market is 6 months faster.
