PROBLEM: Industrial companies seek to modernize their energy management in the face of rising cost challenges, climate change and government regulations. The major problem is that the current generation of energy management software is far from enabling efficient energy management at complex industrial sites. None of the available solutions is able to capture the full process chain, including
energy conversions and locally produced commodities which are very typical in the industry. The challenge lies not only in the analytics of countless amount of data but linking this data with industrial processes and involved conversions, production data, as well as regulations and market data, coupling it with internal systems and communicating across departments.
SOLUTION: The Energy Hub is the first energy management platform that makes complex industrial processes fully energy transparent and complies with all upcoming regulations. It leads to savings in energy consumption between 5 to 15%, helping to reduce CO2 competitively.
Europe is far from hitting its climate targets. Industry, which represents 25% of all primary energy consumption and 28% of emissions, is a key sector in any effort to improve this. Thanks to the Energy Hub companies can start seeing clearly into their energy flows.
HOW: We have developed unique graph-based and versioned metamodels that can track consumption even across various energy conversions, enabling new unprecedented insights into deviations and cost allocation down to product level in real time. To get a comparable insight previously required a costly audit and months of work.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
. Validate the technical feasibility of the Energy Hub and metamodelling technology in a real-life setting
. Investigate the replication potential to the five most energy-intensive industries in Europe and beyond
. Develop a comprehensive IPR-strategy as a basis for further valorisation of the Energy Hub
. Draft a comprehensive business and investment plan
