The Uberization of Europol's Cybercrime Strategy: An Innovative Governance Model on Public-Private Partnership

Project description

Europol’s new uber-like approach to combatting cybercrime

For years now, cybercrime has been the main focus of Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency. The EU-funded TUECS project examines the agency’s fight against cybercrime in the context of uberisation. It investigates Europol's uber-like intermediary role through an online platform that matches the idle forensic investigation capacity of private actors with national law enforcement agencies who are seeking technical guidance and collaboration in cybercrime. This platform will help boost the interaction between private cybersecurity actors and law enforcement agencies that need skilled experts to investigate cybercrime cases.
