Last advances in automation and cloud technologies have led to the emergence of Industry 4.0 a new industrial revolution that enables improved productivity, safety, and flexibility. Industry 4.0 has impacted a wide spectrum of key industries such as automotive, electronics manufacturing, advanced logistics, among others. However, further improvements are still needed in other segments such as metal mould injection, where non-automated processes contribute up to 75% of the total production time, leading to important and costly drawbacks such as increased downtime and reduced productivity due to bad diagnosis.
ASAI has developed SCR4.0 a pioneering solution that fully integrates and automates for the first-time industrial parts scan, 3D model generation, machining processes in a high flow metal casting manufacturing line. SCR4.0 will improve quality control and rectification processes by 50%, enabling up to 33% increase of productivity, and saving up to 30% of production costs.
The objective of the present project has been to develop a comprehensive assessment of the technical, commercial and financial feasibility of SCR4.0.
