Objective
The aim of the project should be the building of a non-contaminating paint-coating unit for ship repair work, which would be used as a demonstration model. This unit would make a drastic reduction of contaminating overspray possible.
In paint-coating work during ship repairs a technology, that is highly dangerous for the environment, was applied up to now. The overspray developing during paint coating contaminates both air and water. The project includes the conception and building of a demonstration unit, which will prevent emissions of overspray and make treatment and utilization of contaminating substances possible. The special conditions (eg large immobile objects, varying environmental conditions) and demands (robust handling, efficiency with large surfaces) of ship repair work were taken into consideration. The project is based on the feasibility analysis, which transfers the current level of technology in the field to the special demands of ship building and repair. The demonstration unit will consist of commercially made parts, which will be so assembled as to provide many possibilities for system optimization. On this project we will cooperate with well-known companies in the field of plant development and building.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
