Objective
The project's aim is to provide SMEs with the necessary theoretical and practical information about Eco-Management and Audit, in order to facilitate the introduction of such a system.
The SMEs should recognize Eco-Management as an instrument that can save operating costs by detecting deficiencies.
There is a three-step procedure for disseminating the necessary information about Eco-Management and Audit: Step 1 consisting of expert lectures, which cover the topic theoretically; and workshops, where the SMEs will have the chance to discuss their individual problems and experiences with experts and representatives of other enterprises.
In a second step a brochure will be elaborated that summarizes the content of the events, mentioned above, and provides additional useful information concerning Eco-Management and audit.
In a third step an Eco-Management and Audit Info-centre will be established to advise SMEs permanently on the whole range of Eco-Audit (ie EC-policy, elaboration of specified questionnaires that can serve as checklists, offering of flat rates).
