Objective
Promoting actions for the socioeconomic development of the Anaga inhabitants, based in the rural tourism, and public use of Natural Park as well. The project try to get direct benefits to the populations, and also indirect benefits by means of generating complementary income. We expect to formulate a way of endogenous development able to export to other ones in similar rural areas.
The present proposal acts as a background to put into practice different actions in an area of outstanding natural and cultural values: Anaga, according to the Union policy regarding to the sustained development.
These actions are part of a much more extensive program directed to the conservation and the socioeconomic development of Anaga Rural Park, in Tenerife. We are trying to carry out a demonstration project which can be exported to other similar areas in the Canaries and to other regions of the European Union.
There are five different types of proposed actions: landscape restoration, development of basic infrastructure, promotion of local products and space, public use and rural tourism, nature conservation and an evaluation and support of this project. All these actions are directed to develop a rural tourism compatible with the conservation as a formula of endogenous development which contributes to improve the inhabitants' economical situation.
In this way we start some structures to assure the visitors' enjoyment and to promote the use and consumption of local products. At the same time, some performances are proposed to benefit indirectly the population through the improvement of the landscape and the conservation of nature.
