Objective
Germoplasma collection as a strategy for the conservation of the species. New germination and bedding techniques for plants necessary to the specialist market. Creation of one working procedure to be used in every kind of habitat to achieve a Community aim.
The Arca Project starts from the simple consideration that it is possible to carry out an adequate defence of natural habitat through the defence of Germoplasma and its spreading. It articulates in 4 phases developed within 26 months necessary to acquire the bibliography (I phase) to find, through campaigns of gathering of germoplasma which will constitute a collection (II p.) to establish a specialist tree nursery (IIIp.): heart of project and open air laboratory where will be possible try out either traditional or not germination and spreading techniques. The IV p is the real acid test for final results because it will help our centre to seal its product, not only in terms of cultivation but also of methodology and service. Our point of innovation is our 'self-aimed' working procedure, consisting in techniques which can be carried out by local biological and human resources. Our project includes skilled technical-scientific staff, but it will also offer employment. Our technical needs are few and aimed to the reclamation of traditional techniques. The beneficiary who holds lands and real properties in the region of the project will only need some increase and technological improvements which assure the success of the enterprise.
