Objective
Develop eco-audit methodologies adapted for industry and service enterprises operating within or in the vicinity of nature protected areas. Spread information at local level about the eco-audit process and the role of different players. Create a demand for eco-audit services.
The implementation in Italy of EU eco-audit and environmental management regulation 1836/'93 (29.06.93) is practially non-existent. It is likely that eco-audit methodologies will need to be adapted for industrial and service enterprises operating within or in the vicinity of natural protected areas. Pilot area for this project is the Regional Park of Ticino, a protected area densely populated with high presence of industrial activities.
In the first phase analysis for productive structures in the area and its impact on the environment will be carried out.
In the second phase specific methodologies for eco-audit in protected areas will be developed. %: In the third phase the processed information and the eco-audit methodologies and process will be transfer to the local player through a series of workshops and experimental cooperation among eco-audit players.
