Periodic Reporting for period 1 - GLOBAL_AT_VENICE (GLOBAL_AT_VENICE - Research and Training for Global Challenges Cofund Fellowship Programme)
Reporting period: 2021-01-01 to 2022-12-31
The programme is supported by the University’s corporate partners, including research centres, non-academic networks of spin-offs, and small and medium enterprises, where Fellows have the opportunity to complete secondments, bridging the gap between academic and applied research, and between research and market.
Applicants submit their bottom - up research proposal and select one of the six interdisciplinary Research for Global Challenges Institutes (RGCI), teams from different fields working together to analyse problems in an interdisciplinary way, that support them with their individual research and training needs.
The programme is open to all nationalities and to researchers within eight years from finishing their PhD Degree.
The programme wants to attract the best possible candidates and deepen and develop their knowledge and competencies in order to improve their employability on the job market both in the academic and non-academic world and to extend their professional network.
Applicants go through a thorough selection process based on the scientific excellence of the proposal and the ability of the candidate to carry out their project. COFUND Fellows are the highest-ranked applicants.
The list of funded projects is available on the dedicated webpage https://www.unive.it/pag/40619/(opens in new window)
First dissemination activities are ongoing: first publications, and first conference attendances of our Fellows.
We expect the Global_At_Venice Fellows to undertake their research within Ca' Foscari’s exciting environment, to explore domains of knowledge and adopt unusual approaches with their research.
This network will benefit from knowledge sharing fostered by brain circulation.
All stakeholders will develop stronger research and innovation links among them to use knowledge effectively for social, business and policy purposes at regional, national and international level and lay the groundwork for future collaborative research projects based in Europe.
