Objective
OBJECTIVES
Changes in work organisation and ways of working mean that a worker's time is valuable, and flexibility is essential both for training and associated tests. Increasingly, workers are sufficiently computer literate not to be at a disadvantage when dealing with computer assisted assessment (CAA). Correctly used, CAA can be a flexible assessment tool, provided that the tests are well designed; it offers increased validity and reliability over traditional examinations and testing methods. The aim of this project is to encourage the use of valid and reliable computer-based tests at the workplace, both for the formative assessment of a trainee's progress and, where appropriate, as an element for the award of vocational qualifications.
ACTIVITIES
The project will create and evaluate distance learning materials on the implementation of computer assisted assessment and on the preparation of valid and reliable tests. It will create and field-test banks of examination questions, mainly for SMEs, on tourism, modern office skills and business in the EEA. Finally, the direct learning materials and question banks will be disseminated.

- Distance learning material on the use of computer assisted assessment in the workplace.
- Distance learning material on the creation of valid and reliable tests.
