Objective
OBJECTIVES
In 1992, a Council Directive established a new procedure for evaluating and eliminating risks on building sites in the construction sector. It places the responsibility of preventing risks on all people involved in the building process. Under this project a number of European experts in the training of designers and builders in the construction sector have joined forces to respond, by means of training tools, to the new skills requirements arising from this Directive.
ACTIVITIES
Following a transnational evaluation of training requirements, the partners will determine the methodologies which need to be implemented to respond to these requirements and will develop training tools. They will organise training courses for building site co-ordinators, designers and construction workers in various European countries. Pilot sites will then be set up in order to evaluate the methodologies produced. Finally, two multimedia training programmes will be finalised, one for use by co-ordinators and the other for designers and construction workers.
PRODUCTS
Two directly applicable products will result from the project: a multimedia training programme designed for designers and construction workers, and a training programme also in the form of a software package designed for use by building site co-ordinators.
