Objective
OBJECTIVES
The European tourist industry must be diversified. This is the reason why therapeutic tourism seems to be a growth area. However, employees in this field have not received any specific training and therefore have no specific qualifications. The aim of the project is therefore firstly to identify the training requirements of the employees in this sector and to provide training modules which will remedy the deficiencies which have been identified. This will enable the employees to acquire relevant knowledge and allow new qualified jobs to be created in the area of therapeutic tourism.
ACTIVITIES
The partners will firstly systematically analyse the skills required in the field of therapeutic tourism to allow them to produce, by pooling their results, a guide which can be used to define the skills requirements of each hotel business interested in developing a therapeutic tourism service. They will then develop training modules at different levels designed to develop the skills required in this sector. The training material will be made available on CD-ROM so that it can be used for self-training, open and distance training for the in-company training of hotel staff. Finally, the partners wish to set up a network of establishments offering a therapeutic tourism service so that experiences can be exchanged on a continual basis.
