Training system for the development of the "production manager" function in the European environment

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Production managers generally show little interest in the international arena within the scope of their day-to-day activities, even though they are likely to be affected by it. This will consequently provoke the creation of an inward-looking organisation, with complexes and prejudices arising out of mutual ignorance. In the long term, a degeneration in industrial resources will be observed, as there will be no move away from the organisational methods and procedures which have been "tried and tested". The project therefore aims to develop an exchange mechanism for production managers, intended to bring about a reciprocal enrichment of their approach to managing their products in terms of quality assurance and production organisation; technologies and technological changes; methods; the human resources in their production units; European and international standards, etc. To this end, the partners propose to develop a European training system focusing on the organisation of seminars for production managers.

ACTIVITIES
The partners will draw up an inventory of professional knowledge and practices, determine the sectors from which future participants will come, analyse the requirements of the participants and organise the teaching and equipment for the said seminar. The various partners will function as network managers in their respective countries and will co-ordinate the preparation of the seminar in accordance with the issues and weaknesses identified in their talks with the industrial companies participating in the project.

PRODUCTS
Once the first cycle of the European seminar has been produced, this specific measure will in the long term make it possible to arrange seminars for "European Product Managers". In the long term, the various partners will be able to propose training exchanges to countries in their respective countries.
