Multimedia distance learning for co-management industrial relations within European SMEs

Objective

OBJECTIVES
This project was conceived in order to respond to the new training requirements brought about in SMEs by industrial developments, changes in production systems and the incorporation of new technologies. The specific objective set by the partners is to design educational multimedia material providing open and distance training addressed specifically at managers, directors and employees of SMEs. An analysis of the current training requirements of SMEs has already been carried out under a preceding study implemented under the FORCE programme.

ACTIVITIES
Taking as a basis the analysis of the specific training requirements of SMEs which has already been conducted, the partners will develop material in co-operation with representatives of SME associations, trade union representatives, SME managers and other players involved in vocational training. All these players will focus on defining the teaching content and methods which need to be included in the training modules. On the basis of these discussions, the partners will finalise 6 training modules relating to industrial relations in Europe, to the management of human resources and in-company training. The partners will concentrate particularly on the 'user-friendly' aspect of training by using multimedia technologies. The material will then be tested and evaluated before being distributed.

PRODUCTS
Creation of 6 training modules relating to industrial relations in Europe, the management of human resources and the management of in-company training, designed for managers, directors and employees of SMEs. These training modules will be made available in the form of video cassettes, software and books which will be suitable for self-training and self-assessment.
