Programme for the development of a new training system based on knitting and clothing technologies

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Recent changes in the knitwear and clothing industry call for highly qualified people, particularly in the use of new technologies. This project proposes to develop innovative training material and tools in order to increase the effectiveness of initial and continuing vocational training in the sector and to help companies to adapt to technological changes.

ACTIVITIES
The training material will be developed as a co-operative venture between four organisations from different countries which can draw on extensive experience in the knitwear and clothing industry. The material will be produced with the co-operation of experts in the application of new technologies in this area. This collective work will result in the creation of a learning tool on CD-ROM designed to train employees in the sector in new knitting and sewing techniques and in the new types of work organisation which they involve. In a second phase, the tool will be tested, evaluated and finalised.

PRODUCTS
Production of a directly operational training tool: CD-ROM containing a training programme on new knitting and sewing techniques used in the knitwear and clothing industry.
