Promoting diversity in business support services for the SME sector

Objective

OBJECTIVES
A survey of the needs of the small business sector reports that training and guidance services do not sufficiently take into account the actual needs of those wishing to set up, develop or expand small businesses. While this applies to both male and female entrepreneurs, nowhere is it more clearly seen than with women. The objective of this project is to contribute to raising the capacity and skills of enterprise development agencies in order to more effectively support small business growth and to promote women entrepreneurs. It will provide distance and open learning materials to develop the skills of staff and advisors responsible for enterprises and business support services.

ACTIVITIES
The project will produce a training video for business support agents based on case studies, illustrating both good and bad practice, selected across the EU. In addition to the case studies, the video will include role play sequences for training purposes. There will be a training manual and a guide to accompany the video. A training course for trainers in which the video will also be used as a training tool will also be developed.
