Monitoring and targeting energy and environment training programme

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The company which produces Waterford crystal in Ireland is one of the country's best known businesses. It has undergone profound technological and organisational changes and wishes to diversify and build up its clientele. For this purpose, it is proposing the development of a training programme for its employees which will allow them to acquire key management skills and develop their creativity and ability to take initiatives. This programme can then be validated and transferred to other companies or countries. The programme will cover the following areas: electricity, gas, water and computer, electronics and instrumentation technology.

ACTIVITIES
The project will, firstly, analyse training needs in the various areas. Then, it will produce a training programme for Waterford Crystal employees. These employees will evaluate it, so that it can be modified on the basis of their comments. Then, it will be translated into Swedish and distributed to the partner companies of the project. Wider distribution is a possibility.

PRODUCTS
- Creation of training programmes accompanied by manuals, an educational software programme which controls the system, a video cassette and a CD-ROM which can be used as a self-training tool. These tools will be translated from English into Swedish for wider distribution.
