Healthcare in Europe: Action, learning and training

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Economic, demographic and social changes have significantly increased expenditure in the health care sector. Consumers demand quality services and products. There is no escaping the fact that the European medical industry is losing some of its market share to the US. For this reason, it is necessary for European businesses to develop training programmes which will enable them to introduce new technologies as fast as possible and thus have a steadier footing on the international market. The project intends to create distance training materials suitable for use in the workplace in the field of medical technologies for technicians and medical engineers.

ACTIVITIES
Initially, the project's partners will analyse the training needs emerging in the health care sector in terms of skills in innovative technologies. By pooling the results of this analysis, the partners will draw up training programmes in various sectors of medical technology and create distance training tools which can be transferred to a CD-ROM. The aim is to enable those working in this sector to train themselves in the workplace and acquire key skills in technological innovations. The training programmes will be evaluated, validated and distributed as widely as possible throughout the EU.

PRODUCTS
The project will aim to create distance training modules for medical technicians and engineers to familiarise them with the use of new technologies, which can be transferred to CD-ROM.
