Development of a curriculum, a learning and media concept for car mechatronics

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The need to implement a European job description of a mechanical and electronic engineer in the automobile industry is becoming increasingly urgent. The project intends to produce a curriculum for an initial vocational training period of three years leading to a new job description. The contents are structured so as to give an overall training of automobiles and to include the personal and social development of the apprentices. With a view to introducing this new job description, the project plans to introduce an advisory service for pilot experiments.

ACTIVITIES
The project will try and transfer existing concepts on the mechanical and electronic automobile engineer's job description into a three-year initial training programme, combined with the development of multimedia training tools which will give the curriculum an innovative nature. After these training and learning tools have been developed, the preliminary results will be implemented and assessed in six different countries.

PRODUCTS
- Three-year initial training curriculum for the mechanical and electronic automobile engineer's European job description.
- Development of learning concepts assisted by new, ground-breaking media.
- Initiation of a network supporting the project and implementation of pilot projects in six countries.
