Animateurs training across Europe

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The European tourism sector, which is constantly expanding, is creating new jobs. There is an increasing demand for activity leaders who are able to organise activities for hotel residents, both children and adults. The project intends to set up an initial training module to meet this demand. It will seek to accredit this training in several countries in order to encourage young people to be trained and to work in foreign countries to promote mobility.

ACTIVITIES
Firstly, a new initial training activity leadership programme will emerge, together with independent modules. These courses will then have to be accredited in each member country. Young people will be recruited to steer the courses and appropriate training tools will be created. Training periods of three to twelve weeks will be organised and each partner will benefit from them. Assessments of the training and feedback are planned prior to distribution of the product to employment organisations.

PRODUCTS
- Initial training courses for activity organisers who already have technical training
- Open training material
- Guide for assessing skills acquired by those taking part, for completion with the help of employers and trainers of those taking part.
- A CD-ROM which puts the finishing touches to the theory part of the training through case studies.
