Project to improve the quality of initial vocational training and the transition of young gypsies to working life

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The project is based on five pilot experiments promoted by the Education Ministry in Spain and developed by the secretariat general of the gypsy population. Its aim is to consolidate these experiments, which are intended to facilitate the access of young gypsies to the world of work. It proposes to improve the training tools already produced and create general and specific training courses for young gypsies who wish to acquire vocational training.

ACTIVITIES
The project will cover three phases. Firstly, the partners will try to prepare appropriate training material for this group of people, using transnational experiments as a basis. Trainers will have to learn to master these new tools, and training days will be organised for this purpose. Next, vocational training sessions for young gypsies will be set up. These will be improved by transnational co-operation. Lastly, the material created in this way will be assessed and then widely circulated among specialist organisations who would be a position to distribute the information to the target public.
