Objective
OBJECTIVES
The specific nature of the production process used in the European aluminium industry calls for a tailored language training programme. Catering for the needs of technicians, management and administrative and sales and marketing staff, this project will produce a multimedia modular language training programme covering all aspects of industrial production.
ACTIVITIES
Following a language audit conducted in all three regions, and in close co-operation with the three partner companies, the three lead partners will determine course content, programme the software and pilot the modules throughout the project. Language objectives to include technical and everyday language will also be set, documents and other materials will be collected from the partner companies, and mentors will be designated to oversee piloting and report on multimedia language training within the companies. Self-assessment and accreditation linked to the relevant national qualifications will be included, and a full marketing strategy will be developed. Dissemination throughout the industry will be conducted in the three participating regions and on a pan-European level.
PRODUCTS
The project will produce a CD-ROM and pedagogical support materials with courses in English, Spanish and German which may be used in stand-alone format or in conjunction with classroom and E-mail tutor support.
