Training social educators specialized in ethnic minorities

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Spain is faced with growing immigration from foreigners in countries which are not members of the EU. If some degree of social cohesion is therefore to be achieved, it is important to work towards integrating them into Spanish society. The project intends to produce a training curriculum for immigrants so that they can play a mediating role between the group of immigrants from outside the EU and the host society.

ACTIVITIES
The partners, in order to do this, will identify the emerging social needs amongst the immigrants with a view to formulating appropriate training needs. They will draw up a standard profile of the cross-cultural mediators based on these needs, and a vocational training curriculum for them. Training programmes which include a theory and a practical strand will be developed from this curriculum. The partner countries will exchange good practices and focus on assessing training programmes.

PRODUCTS
A training curriculum on the training of cross-cultural mediators will be produced in the form of manuals with the aim of achieving better integration of immigrants who are not part of the EU.
