New technology and ECO awareness in motor vehicle studies

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The motor industry in the EU is subject to strong environmental demands. In order to comply with European standards it must produce new motor construction and inspection techniques. In this project leading manufacturers of electronic diesel systems will work together with experts from training institutes to develop a training programme for trainers and training modules for students and employees, who will have to deal with the new environmental protection standards.

ACTIVITIES
A transnational multi-actor partnership consisting of public authorities, training organisations, enterprises and social partners will be established. Leading motor enterprises will transfer their practical knowledge of technical innovations to training organisations so that they can design training programmes providing core skills. A group of experts will evaluate the programmes and adjust them so that they can be used for the initial and continuing training of workers and students. These programmes will be evaluated on a transnational level and then disseminated in the sectors concerned.

PRODUCTS
Materials for training trainers, students and employees will be produced, including guides, software, databases, CD-ROMs, simulation programmes and video cassettes.
