Objective
OBJECTIVES
The glass work industry is facing new requirements. Directives concerning environmental protection, management development, the demand for innovative products and adaptation to new technologies call for a highly qualified workforce with a wide range of skills and higher levels of qualification . The object of this project is therefore to train trainers in initial and continuing vocational training with the aim of supplying a highly qualified workforce in the glass industry, which is facing radical change.
ACTIVITIES
The activities of the project will be carried out in close co-operation between vocational training centres, research centres and the companies involved in the glass work industry. They will design the training modules for trainers, based on an analysis of the training needs identified in the various partner companies involved in the project. The trainers will be trained in transnational workshops specialising in the sciences and the technologies of the glass industry and also in glass recycling. This will make it possible to produce independent training modules which will meet individual training needs. An exchange programme will be carried out at the same time and it will be extended to include the initial training of students who wish to work in the glass industry.
PRODUCTS
The project will result in the production of training modules for trainers in the glass industry (new technologies, directives concerning environmental protection and glass recycling), a glossary of key words used in this sector and accompanying manuals and guides.
