Qualification need analysis in handicraft and tourism sectors

Objective

OBJECTIVES
As part of regional development, the aim is to create a platform of knowledge of the tourism and craft sectors through continuing training strategies in order to improve the level of qualifications in these sectors. To this end, this study will identify qualification needs required for the development of the tourism and craft sectors, will promote co-operation between training centres and businesses with a view to developing innovative training programmes (open and distance training), and will develop strategies for improving training and evaluation tools.

ACTIVITIES
The partners will create a communications network which facilitates the development of common objectives, and methodologies, along with the transfer of the results obtained. Then, they will analyse the training needs emerging in the two sectors by evaluating the relevance of the tools and methods used to gather data. The data will be analysed by each country involved in the project and a pooling of the results will enable training strategies to be developed which are capable of improving the efficiency and capacity for innovation of the tourism and craft sectors through the promotion of open and distance training methods.

RESULTS
The study will put forward training strategies which enable new skills to be acquired for the development of these two sectors (publication of a final report).
