Rendre la recherche visible au public finlandais
Les collaborations de la Nuit des chercheurs européens à l’échelle du pays organisées en Finlande entre 2016 et 2019 se sont traduites par des performances couronnées de succès et ont ouvert la voie à un projet susceptible d’améliorer les interactions entre le public et le monde universitaire. Le projet TY2020, financé par l’UE, améliorera la visibilité de la science pluridisciplinaire et de ses avancées, et présentera la vaste communauté de chercheurs ainsi que leurs travaux respectifs au grand public. Bien que les activités du projet soient orientées vers tous, des enfants aux adultes plus âgés, elles ciblent tout particulièrement les étudiants à la recherche d’une voie professionnelle, dans le but de leur montrer que les études supérieures sont en mesure de leur apporter à la fois une grande satisfaction ainsi qu’un futur serein.
Objectif
TY2020 is a nationally extensive project, aiming to foster visibility of multidisciplinary science and its results, as well as interaction and collaboration between the public and researchers in Finland. The ultimate aim is to enhance involvement and evidence-based impact of research in the society in order to improve our everyday life in a rapidly changing world. Grounded on successful earlier nation-wide NIGHT-collaborations in 2016-2019, this project brings together several universities, research institutes, research funding agencies, and expert organisations for science communication. It spans many facets of research and covers numerous individual researchers with diverse backgrounds and research topics. We will deliver a message of cutting edge research conducted in Finland and introduce the general public with the large number of researchers and the significant work they perform. We want to break stereotypes the general public may have on researchers. The programme for activities during the night will include content for everyone, from children to seniors. However, the specific aim is to promote research careers especially to high school and university students, and young people in general who are about to make their first real career choice. Our message is that high education is fun and could provide them with a secured future. Many Finnish universities and organisations have united for a widespread European Researchers’ Night and will simultaneously perform activities targeted for the general public around the country.
