Brochure for farmers and regulators on plastic in agricultural soils (opens in new window)

A set of brochures for farmers and regulators will be developed which should inform both groups regarding the environmental effects of using plastic materials and plastic containing soil amendments as well as potential options to minimize their impact.

Analytical method to quantify MiP in organic-rich materials for standard (commercial) application (opens in new window)

The beneficiary Wessling will work on a standardized application to determine micro-plastic in organic rich material (soils). This method will be published via the project and the companies web-page.

Evaluation scheme for plastic contents of compost (opens in new window)

Development of a scheme for plastic detection in compost which allows a quality classification of compost. Scheme will be made published via project web-page.

Harmonized method protocols for identification and quantification of diverse plastic materials in agricultural soil (opens in new window)

There is no standard method to extract and determine microplastic in soils Hence such procedure will be developed for the research in SOPLAS This report will document the protocols used in SOPLAS to quantify microplastic in soil
