Exploration de la recherche en Écosse
Les événements EXPLORATHON sont organisés en Écosse depuis 2014, dans le but de sensibiliser le public au travail des chercheurs et à leurs réalisations. Le projet EXPLORATHON 2020, financé par l’UE, s’appuiera sur le succès des événements précédents pour offrir une édition vedette de la Nuit européenne des chercheurs dans tout le pays. Le projet formera des chercheurs à s’adresser au grand public. En outre, il permettra au grand public de zones urbaines et rurales reculées de prendre part à une série d’événements et d’expériences scientifiques afin d’accroître l’intérêt pour la recherche et le travail des chercheurs. Le projet s’adressera principalement aux enfants des écoles secondaires et primaires supérieures afin d’éliminer les stéréotypes entourant le travail des chercheurs et d’encourager les jeunes à envisager une carrière dans la recherche.
Objectif
Our proposal builds on the success of EXPLORATHON in Scotland from 2014 to date and will deliver a blockbuster edition of the NIGHT across all of Scotland. We will engage with audiences in the main urban centres in Scotland as well as in hard to reach audiences in rural areas and geographically isolated communities in the Highlands and Islands. We will use our full expertise of marketing, social media and styles of engagement to mobilise our researchers and train them to engage with the public. We will use a variety of different styles of engagement from comedy to drama, to online and fun hands-on science experiments to enthuse the public about research and researchers. Working with key partners across Scotland we will showcase to secondary and upper primary aged school children the array of research careers that are on offer and bust myths about researchers.
