Why is it important for society?
The main resources that would help Montenegro to reach the level of developed countries are the knowledge and intellectual potential of its population.
What are the overall objectives?
The aim of Montenight 2020 has been to contribute to the enhancement of human resources in the field of scientific research and innovation. The project contributes to strengthening dialogue, aspiring to make a stronger connection among the research sector, business, the public sector, and civil society.
Target audiences
o Public at large regardless of age and scientific background;
o Special attention paid to young people in general;
o Researchers themselves and media.

o Researchers are ordinary people amongst us, with an extraordinary job;
o Science is fun and enjoyable;
o Researchers work on important jobs for social and economic well-being, for sustainable development.;

o The press conference (November 25) covered by dozens of channels and newspapers;
o Direct meetings with stakeholders - companies, researchers, universities, institutes, school authorities, NGO;
o Five billboards set on the most frequent locations in Podgorica;
o A big tarpaulin, put on the main venue, the Museums, and Galleries of Podgorica;
o Airing of promotional spots, announcements, and talk shows on radio and TV stations;
o 200 direct invitations delivered to heads of science talents activities and research stakeholders;

IMPACT ASSESSMENT
Despite the obstacles due to COVID-19 pandemic, the MONTENIGHT 2020 organized only online, excited interest among pupils, students, and other young people who expressed a high level of satisfaction with the program and organization of the event.
Quantitative data
o 43,75 % of the respondents are from the age cohort 15-24. 25% of respondents are over 45, 20% are researchers, half of the respondents visited the previous RN.
o Overall positive feedback about the event - On a scale from 1 to 5, the festival has been graded with 4.77. Unsatisfied 1% of respondents
o The festival was promoted at main national TV channels (RTCG, Vijesti, Prva TV), local TV stations (Niksic, Rozaje, Budva, Herceg Novi), and at the most relevant portals
o Appx. 350 000 people were informed about Researchers’ Night and its objective
o Active involvement of 140 researchers in the activities offered.
Qualitative data
o Montenight demonstrated that science could be fun and fascinating
o Connections between researchers and the general public have got improved
o It is possible to be a successful researcher in Montenegro
o Various sectors were involved in the Researchers' Night
o The Montenegrin society has been increasingly aware of the importance of research in their everyday life
o Researchers have become better informed about opportunities to do science through EU programs
o Young people were stimulated to engage in scientific careers
o Young people had the opportunity to see researchers having benefited from EU programs including H2020
o The importance of international cooperation in research activities was emphasized
o Positive impact of public perception of researchers and science in general, for the prospective knowledge-based society.
MONTENIGHT 2020 has been designed in accordance with the Strategy of Smart Specialization.
IMAGINE FUTURE showed the importance of the application of virtual reality.
Special attention has been paid to the role of science in preserving its rich cultural heritage.
The project brought closer collaboration among companies and researchers from the academic sector.
The non-governmental sector gathered a large number of science lovers.
Presenting the HORIZON 2020 projects CROSSBOW, COMPAS, ANDROMEDA, and DEMETER, the Researchers’ Night IMAGINE FUTURE has encouraged better involvement in the EU projects as well as mobility of young researchers.
