Fundamentals of Design Competence for Our Digital Future

Deliverables

School 3 organised + online resources

Summer/Winter School 3: Decentralised interactions (TU Delft, M22)● 3 days content modules (building on courses particularly at TU Delft and UMU, with additional input of UEDIN, Philips and other non-academic partners)● 1 day structured exchange between groups of individual PhDs: draft first paper, first ‘research through design’ artefacts, outline next papers and/or design experiments (facilitated by all academic partners)● 1 day exchange between prototeams (unconference format): identifying challenges (facilitated by both academic and non-academic partners)

School 2 organised + online resources

Summer/Winter School 2: Anticipation, design and evaluation of machine behaviour (AU, M16)● 3 days content modules (building on courses particularly at TTI and TU Delft, with additional input of AU and non-academic partners)● 1 day structured exchange between groups of individual PhDs: literature review and exploratory design activities (facilitated by all academic partners)● 1 day prototeams kick off (speed dating and design sprint), first rotation (facilitated by non-academic partners)

School 1 (kick-off) organised + online resources

Summer/Winter School 1: Introduction (Tu Delft, M10)● 1 day general introduction to D-CoDE and its ethos, including community building activities (TU Delft)● 2 days introductions into the 5 research perspectives by leaders WP1, WP2, WP3, WP4 and WP5● 1 day introductions to basic research and transferable skills that are key to D-CoDE● 1 day structured exchange between groups of PhDs about research plan, methodology, ethical issues etc. (facilitated by all academic participants)
