Periodic Reporting for period 1 - GENETTA (Genomic Data-Fusion Platform for Omics-Driven Precision Medicine)

The project aimed to implement and explore ways to commertialize a comprehensive data analytics software platform in the biomedical domain. The platform's aim was to accelerate data-driven biomedical innovation in precision medicine, including subtyping of patients into risk groups and designing personalized treatment strategies. It was to do that by exploiting the recent advances in explainable AI resulting from ERC Conoslidator Grant, ICON-BIO, to fuse heterogeneous multi-omics data. The proposed activites included two blocks: 1. Market analysis and commercialization plan; 2. Software development efforts.
The project made progress in all of its aims. In particular, it developed a comprehensive business plan. That lead to creation of startup, Graphlet Technologies. The startup has applied for European Innovation Council grants for financial support. Software developments were also on the way. The project hired staff who worked on implementation of the software platform, which is nearly completed.
