Periodic Reporting for period 2 - Ashvin (Assistants for Healthy, Safe, and Productive Virtual Construction Design, Operation & Maintenance using a Digitial Twin)
Período documentado: 2021-10-01 hasta 2022-09-30
The envisioned platform will provide a digital representation of the construction product at hand and will allow to collect real-time digital data before, during, and after production of the product to continuously monitor changes in the environment and within the production process. Based on the platform, ASHVIN will develop and demonstrate applications that use the digital twin data. These applications will allow it to fully leverage the potential of the IoT based digital twin platform to reach the expected impacts (better scheduling forecast by 20%; better allocation of resources and optimization of equipment usage; reduced number of accidents; reduction of construction projects).
The ASHVIN solutions will overcome worker protection and privacy issues that come with the tracking of construction activities, provide means to fuse video data and sensor data, integrate geo-monitoring data, provide Multiphysics simulation methods for digital representing the behaviour of a product (not only its shape), provide evidence based engineering methods to design for productivity and safety, provide 4D simulation and visualization methods of construction processes, and develop a lean planning process supported by real-time data.
For the management part of the project, a Project Management plan, A quality assurance plan, as well as, a Data management plan are in place. These documents set in place various procedures that are currently being followed by the consortium.
A standardization plan was advised that identified the standardisation gap, and proposed the focus of the future standardisation efforts to be undertaken by Ashvin.
After the first reporting period, Ashvin reached the second milestone. The KPIs for designing for improved safety, productivity, and resource efficiency are defined, as well as, the KPIs to plan and monitor productive, resource-efficient, and safe construction sites. Together with this, the demonstration plan for our 10 demo sites was put in place.
Up to now, Ashvin received the end of the second reporting period. All technical deliaverables have been submitted and each tool has been tested on at least one of the demonstration projects. The development of the digital twin platform is way underway. Security and privacy guidelines have been developed for developing DT platforms. An ontology has been proposedand an API has been developed.
Ashvin has developed a innovative tool set to make use of digital twin construction data to support lean construction planning and configuration management. A number of highly innovative data fusion and data analytics methods have been proposed to transform IoT data from construction sites into actionable data on the digital twin site.
