Objective
Young people today are particularly affected by recession and its social consequences. There can be no doubt that a need exists to develop thinking and initiatives relating to new practices and policies in the area of youth-work. The five European institutions (including two universities) initiating this project have decided to work towards setting up high-level CVT for youth-work professionals and decision-makers with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience. The scope of this training will cover the various phases and aspects of "Transition to adult life".
The project comprises four areas:
- a transnational feasibility study with an analysis of the principal transition indicators applying to young people between the ages of 15 and 30, plus an analysis of existing policies and systems;
- an exploratory study of this analysis and relevant views by youth-work professionals for the purposes of identifying and defining new skills;
- a definition of reference descriptions for occupations, skills and training;
- testing of training programmes and development of certification at European level.
Impact
To define new youth-work skills and new occupations. To facilitate socio-professional integration for young people.
