Objective
This project proposes to design, develop and organise intensive short-term courses on new and emerging technologies for the chemical industry. The courses will be organised as part of a training quality-control system. In practice, the objective of these courses will be to facilitate dialogue between representatives from industry, the universities and local/regional authorities.
They will be aimed at graduates beginning their careers in the chemical industry, final year engineering or applied science students as well as technical staff in the chemical industry who need to keep abreast of the new and emerging technologies used in various processes. These courses will also be directed at public service technicians working in related domains such as the environment, safety and quality control, as well as university staff and researchers. The training programme, which will be suitable for both companies and individuals, will be available on the Internet.
Impact
This project will reinforce co-operation between the chemical industry, universities and local/regional authorities, improve continuing university education and encourage in-company student placements.
