Training of regional technology transfer experts using best-practice models from Europe

Objective

Technical know-how and the transfer of this knowledge, which needs to be updated repeatedly, is an area of competence that is being increasingly demanded by industry for various reasons (changes in demand for technological products, changing organisational and communication structures, etc.) and for which there are, as yet, hardly any possibilities for qualified training. The aim of this project is to improve the ranges of services offered for industry in Europe by training people to be responsible for technology transfer. It is directed at management personnel in SMEs, universities and public authorities.

To implement the project, technology transfer centres from three different countries will be established as "learning organisations" to develop models for optimum problem solutions in various areas of technology transfer (efficient use of information technologies, staff transfer, search strategies for co-operation partners). To enable comparisons to be made between the models, they are to be drawn up in accordance with directives for organisation development processes tested in industry. The examples developed from practical situations will be prepared according to the latest pedagogical findings and distributed via the Internet and existing European networks (Innovation Relay Centres) as a one-week training course (with different modules) in the form of workshops.

Impact
This project creates a possibility for co-ordinating and harmonising initial vocational training with the world of work. Companies will be able to organise technical innovation processes better and vocational training will have much greater practical relevance.
