Objective
The motorcycle and motorscooter industry is facing intense change in the European market, with a dramatic increase in competitiveness with regard to price/costs and the need to improve quality. There is a need to design and deliver an ad hoc training programme for SME dealers in this sector. The objective of the pilot project is to develop original and specific training tools for entrepreneurs and employees in small motorcycle dealerships, using up to date teaching and learning methodologies to improve competence in self assessment, product know-how, market evaluation and business management. The work programme comprises the following tasks:
- identification of key business factors;
- creation of a system for predicting change in dealerships and the feasibility of expansion plans;
- establishment of a database on structural/managerial competitiveness indicators;
- design of a method for analysing market potential and key competences required to achieve business objectives.
The result will be a pragmatic and effective training package.
Impact
This project will bolster the competitiveness of motorcycle dealerships and safeguard the jobs of people working in this sector.
