New competences for sustainable tourism in protected natural areas

Objective

This survey and analysis project will design and develop innovative training contents and methodologies (training on-the-job, integrated models of training, simulated training models) concerning sustainable tourism in protected natural areas. The project will take particular account of the needs of unemployed workers, especially the young unemployed.

The partners will design a theoretical framework that takes account of national/international laws and the scientific and ethical/political debate on sustainable development strategies. The research will include specific analysis of emerging sectors of the economy, above all those linked to tourism activities and the environment. Once the results of the research are clear, vocational training strategies and activities will be developed. A final report will be drawn up and published.

Impact
This project will contribute to the development of specific competences and new occupational profiles in the tourism and environment sectors.
