Objective
Social partners in the private security service sector throughout Europe recognise the need for qualified staff in order to provide a high quality service. The project aims to develop the transferability of vocational qualifications and certificates throughout Europe. Qualifications have to be seen as being useful in the labour market and valued by employers.
The main objectives of the project are therefore:
- to establish co-operation between social partners and national training institutions concerning the continuous improvement of vocational training in the private security service sector;
- to compare current provision and develop new vocational training programmes/modules that guarantee minimum standards;
- to promote access to broad-based qualifications which are transferable at European level;
- to identify best security vocational training practice.
Impact
The partners will endeavour to integrate the European vocational qualifications and training modules into national structures. Both should respond to the needs of the labour market and the on-going process of technological and structural change. The ultimate effect of the project will be an improvement in the performance and image of private security services on a European level.
