Objective
Protecting the Alps requires strategies that combine protection with sustained development. However, deficiencies and shortcomings still exist in the area of multi-disciplinary, transnational and transversal training programmes. The aim of this project is to develop and test a concept for a Summer Academy in Liechtenstein to be called "Focus on the Alps". This will comprise a three-month training module for improving post-graduate further education with regard to the most important environmentally-linked problems in the Alpine region.
The programme will be divided into a two-week basic module for conveying knowledge about the most important issues concerning the Alpine region, followed by a ten-week priority module dealing intensively with a topic that will change on an annual basis. The priority module will be broken down into a teaching unit (two weeks), a practical section (four weeks) and an evaluation and synthesis section (four weeks). The Summer Academy is directed towards junior staff members from all specialist areas and all the Alpine countries who completed their higher level education not more than five years ago.
Impact
Organisation of a summer academy in order to study the environmentally-linked problems in the Alpine region.
