Objective
The current process of globalisation is progressively eliminating barriers to mobility and the global labour market is already a reality. The EU has made the free circulation of resources (human and material) one of its foundations, but for mobility to lead to real integration, multicultural education will be needed. The aim of this survey and analysis project is to anticipate the 'multicultural' training needs of vocational guidance counsellors. Through their work, the partnership will attempt to find solutions to the following questions/issues:
- which competences do guidance counsellors need to develop their role in future society?
- is there a real need for 'multicultural competences'?
- how can an intercultural approach to these problems help socially excluded people?
The study published at the end of the project will contain a review of reference literature, the results of an empirical study, a presentation of best practices and a specific training module for inclusion in the curricula of the guidance counsellors.
Impact
This project will contribute to the fight against unemployment, especially with regard to people threatened by social exclusion. It will also develop a new competence-based training approach.
