Objective
Although technologies for using renewable energies represent an important part of new future developments - many of which already display substantial market potential - they have so far been more or less neglected in the area of vocational training. The aim of this project is to demonstrate in a practical manner how renewable energies can be incorporated into the vocational training process, using the example of photovoltaic and solar thermal techniques.
In co-ordination with project partners from Germany, Spain and Denmark, who are all practically involved in the vocational education sector and already have more or less intensive experience in the area of renewable energies, the project aims to develop and test in practice structurally identical modules on photovoltaic and solar thermal technology for initial vocational training (plumbing and electrical professions) in the two areas mentioned. Particular importance will also be attached to project-oriented learning in this regard. Furthermore, the differing levels of experience among the project partners presuppose that a transfer of knowledge will take place between the partners (and countries) within the project. The modules will be tested intensively during the project, with the finished modules documented at the end. This documentation will include a description of the curricula as well as of the teaching and learning materials to be used. Distribution strategies concerning the results of the project are also to be prepared within the project. The aim here is for these strategies to be incorporated into the respective debate on vocational education at various levels, thus strengthening the European dimension of this debate. Efforts will be made to achieve comparable or identical certification between the partner countries in this regard.
Impact
The main impact of this project comprises the introduction of new teaching content into initial vocational training and the implementation of such content by means of project-oriented working.
