Objective
Media professions are undergoing radical change and re-emerging as new areas. Although digital audio-visual techniques are now being used in practically all professional fields, there is a lack of practically-oriented general media education and, in particular, of adequate related vocational counselling. The "media house" project comprises a computer-aided multimedia programme for vocational counselling and orientation in the field of new media.
Users will be given the possibility to obtain information regarding practical activities and professional areas in the video/TV, audio/radio/music and multimedia/CB communication sectors in a practical, applied and interactive manner. Through simulations of various production stages and the application of tools, users will be able to place themselves in the role of someone working actively with the media. The results of the project will take the form of 6 CD-Roms produced in the following languages: Danish, English, French and German. The products will be suitable for use as self-study material via vocational counselling distributors and as integrated material for instructed vocational counselling and introductory vocational training.
Impact
The project supports the dissemination and application of multimedia products in the field of new media. It provides information on professional areas, thus promoting transparency within the new media.
