Objective
This project aims to develop solutions for employment problems in rural areas where there has been a significant exodus to towns and cities and high levels of unemployment prevail due to technological progress in agriculture.
The main objective of this project is to promote equality of access to continuing training for people who are disadvantaged in the labour market due to the socio-economic problems outlined above. The partners will design and develop a training methodology, a curriculum and delivery plans for retraining former farm workers to work in environmental occupations. Dissemination will be organised by the co-ordinator and the project partners.
Impact
This project will result directly in the transfer of jobs from the primary (agriculture) sector to the tertiary sector (environmental occupations).
