Self-study and open-network reciprocal education as a way of preventing exclusion

Objective

Increasing numbers of people are poorly prepared to meet the challenges of a society that has come to expect lifelong learning. However, enabling people to be both teacher and student creates a motivation for learning and develops contacts with positive social and educational effects. Self-study and reciprocal training encourage this trend and so help prevent exclusion. To promote projects of this type, the partners will develop European reciprocal exchange networks in co-operation with institutions that are already active in this area or those wishing to become involved.

To achieve the project objective, the partners will set up instructor-training and a subsequent programme for group-leaders. This will lead to the design and finalisation of training and network-management tools. Transnational meetings will pool experience and lead to the creation of an intercultural European network of trainers and group-leaders. The project will produce two studies: one a description of a successful training course, and the other an analysis of the processes, tools and conditions needed to promote innovative educational approaches of this type.

Impact
This project will help prevent exclusion by setting up an innovative self-study and reciprocal training system.
