Objective
Social and health care provision differs considerably from one European country to another. Secondary vocational education in these fields consequently differs in both content and organisation. The main objective of this pilot project is therefore to develop a transnational module for students in health and social care education with a view to developing a degree of uniformity across Europe.
A number of preliminary comparative studies will be carried out, resulting in the definition of joint core skills that are required in modern EU health and social care. An optional module will also cover knowledge of social policy and welfare systems in different European countries as well as cultural and linguistic aspects. The project will be carried out in close co-operation with institutions operating in the social and healthcare area, while national and international educational institution and trade unions will act as continuous evaluators of both the training content and process. Impact
The project will contribute to labour market orientation and cultural awareness. Schools will benefit by gaining an extra training module and social/healthcare institutions.
